I stopped by ASR during their second and last day, Thursday the 4th. It was kind of a ghost town! Vendors gave the excuse that everybody partied so hard the night before, that people were just hung over. Well with this crowd, I don't really doubt that.
Regardless the lack of crowds, there was still plenty going on. People were receiving free hair cuts, makeovers, and access to the skate park.
I saw lots of local companies representing SD this year. Raen Optics, Brixton Hats, ARKA Clothing, Fallen, and many more. (Below: Left, Fallen Footwear. Right, Brixton. Above: Arka)
Volcom was making hats, sewing on finishing details of pants, and wearing interesting long pant jumpsuits made of denim. (Above:Left Volcom. Right Raen Optics)
By far my favorite booth this year was the simple set up by Toddland clothing. No they were not canoeing down a stream... but it sure felt like it!! They would even take your picture and print it out for you. But I opted to take theirs instead. Absolutely fascinating guys, stay tuned for an interview soon.
Well, another year, another ASR. Let's hope the summer show is a bit more exciting. It usually is the bigger event, so nobody better be claiming hang over in August when the show returns!
