"One minute you're in, and the next...you're out."
If you have any taste, I guess this elimination would not come as a shock to you. Well, that is according to the judges of Project Runway. San Diego's Jesus Estrada has fallen into the bottom 2, 3 out of 4 times this season. Although Estrada is a fabulous sewer, that's just not enough to get you through this competition.
All the judges seemed to agree with Michael Kors' comment, “taste is something that you just can’t learn.”
Just in time for Friday's national wear red day, this challenge had the designers creating red gowns that incorporated the Campbell's Soup branding. Yuck. Although I agree that Estrada's choice of satin fabric and jeweled accents were a bit tacky, I definitely liked how he incorporated the Campbell's label into the sides of the dress. I mean, how do you make a soup label look good anyway?
I thought his incorporation was better than the floppy Campbell's pin on Jesee's dress, and even better than the non existant branding on the winning design by Amy!
All in all, based on his track record, I think the judges made a good decision, and sent Estrada off with high compliments of seeing more of him in the future! Now let's hope that San Diego native Seth Aaron Henderson can have what it takes to rise to the occasion and represent!
