The Mog & Rue Spring Soiree in Encinitas on Friday night was a big hit among the local beach community style seekers.
Michelle Wright, a freelancing make up artist for Chanel and Christian Dior, spent some quality time with each shopper to show them what works and what doesn't for their individual looks.

We all have a gorgeous party dress hanging in our closets,
that we know deep down we will never again wear. For me, it’s the gorgeous sapphire
blue a-line halter bride’s made dress from my best friend’s wedding two years
ago. Or the fabulous 80’s inspired fuchsia frock from my senior Sadie Hawkins’s
dance. Whatever the case may be, you know you’ve got at least one of these
silk, organza, ruffled taffeta frocks hiding deep in the back of your closet!
Bring it in to Saks now through March 31st and receive
20% off any full-priced party dress. How can you lose? Your old dress gets to
be appreciated once again by a young woman who will wear it to prom, and you
get to don a whole new fabulous frock!

at Saks in Fashion Valley from 10 am to 4 pm.
I am extra amped for this trunk show. I attended the Valentine's Day event (read about it here) and all it did was leave me wanting more. A super tranquil environment with life guitar music, delicious snacks, and all the artisans there to explain their goods, I really am looking forward to this one too.
Here's a teaser for the spring jewelry collection by Colleen Townend. This was my favorite piece, with the cute little innocent birdie.

This seems like a good shopping event... don't miss out!
I'm really excited for this upcoming event featuring Mahjuba Levine, a
professional wardrobe stylist. This special evening, she will be
helping people shop while offering wardrobe consultations. Every fall
and spring I go through this phase where I want to take all the
clothes I never wear to the thrift shop, and then I want to go
SHOPPING! I get so inspired and I want to refresh and renew my whole look.
But sometimes I need a lot of help thinning out my closet, especially with beloved items that I can't seem to part with, regardless the fact I have not worn them in months, even years.
